Certification Process

Step 1: Is your business EnviroCertified eligible?

To be eligible, you must operate a business in a category that typically generates hazardous waste, be located in Spokane County, and agree to participate in a periodic renewal process.

Step 2: Complete an EnviroCertified application.

The application helps you to identify what you are doing, and what you can do, to manage waste and incorporate best practices.

Step 3: Schedule a free, on-site consultation.

Coordinate a visit with someone from the Pollution Prevention Assistance team. They will verify that you meet certification standards, recommend improvements, provide technical assistance, and connect you to available resources.

Step 4: Certification

Complete tasks agreed to in the Pollution Prevention Assistance visit. Connect with the EnviroCertified representative to confirm your status and receive your EnviroCertified welcome packet.
